The Ouseburn Trust, an organisation that strives to bring sustainability to Ouseburn Valley, is the latest business to join Regalo!

The trust provides gift vouchers for visiting Victoria Tunnel, a subterranean waggonway which was built between 1839 and 1842 and sits underneath Newcastle upon Tyne.

You can choose between:

A Victoria Tunnel Tour For Two or Victoria Tunnel Family Tour For Two Adults And Three Children where you can have a guided tour through Victoria Tunnel, currently named as the number one thing to do in Newcastle on Tripadvisor. You’ll learn all about the waggonway, how it was built, Newcastle’s experience of WW2, and about the death of William Coulson.

Tipple In The Tunnel For Two where The Ouseburn Trust and the nearby Hotel du Vin have teamed up to provide a 75 minute experience for visitors. With this package, you’ll learn about Victoria Tunnel’s history as a waggonway, how it carried coal from Spital Tongues to the River Tyne, and it’s history as a communal air-raid shelter during WW2. You’ll also have a wine tasting experience in the tunnel and your Sommelier will introduce and talk about 3 wonderful wines from around the world, as well as giving you a blind wine tasting.
