Known for selling the ‘rummiest’ cakes in Cumbria, Vie’s Jamaican Rum Cakes offers you a taste of Jamaica without you having to step on a plane.

Born in 1943 Jamaica and passing away in 2018 England (which had been her home since the ‘60s), Vie was known for her legendary cakes and, despite being teetotal herself, Vie’s cakes were always generously infused with rum!

One of Vie’s daughters, Elaine, moved to Cumbria last year and decided to turn her mother’s death into a legacy as well as a loss. Honouring her mother, Elaine began making and selling traditional - and very rummy! - cakes based on Vie’s recipe, naming her new Kendal-based business venture Vie’s Jamaican Rum Cakes.
